Walmart shoplifting suspects arrested

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Two Allentown men accused of shoplifting baby formula are in custody following a car chase through multiple municipalities.

Police say the incident began around 5:45 p.m. Friday when 42-year-old Hector Vincente Rosa and 34-year-opld Stephen Rodriguez conspired to steal 18 cans of infant formula powder from the Wal-Mart on Millcreek Road in Lower Macungie Township.

Police say Rosa fled the store after Rodriguez allowed him to drive away in his vehicle.

Rosa was subsequently seen traveling on Route 222 North by South Whitehall Township police.

A car chase ensued into Allentown, where police say Rosa ditched his vehicle and began to flee on foot.

Rosa was apprehended in the area of 7th and Union streets, according to police.

Police say a video tape from Wal-Mart showed the two suspects arrived at the store together.
