Artists in Allentown schools are ready to get framed! Or at least their art is.
The Allentown School District is partnering with Mayfair Festival of the Arts to display the artwork of the district's students.
It's a way to bring the art to the community, and help the Allentown School District Foundation raise money for the district's arts education programs.
The foundation will have a booth at Mayfair in Ag Hall at the Allentown Fairgrounds May 24-27.
The booth will be used to display and sell artwork by Allentown students.
But they need your help.
In order to display the artwork, frames are needed--and the district foundation is looking for donations.
The public is asked to bring new or gently used frames and mats to any branch of People First Federal Credit Union until May 22, or you can bring your spare frames to the ASD Foundation’s booth at Mayfair.
“The children in the Allentown School District create artwork of such beauty and creativity that whenever we’ve exhibited the art, people ask how they can buy pieces. So we’ve decided to start selling reprints as a fundraiser ,” explained Debora Roberson, board president of the ASD Foundation.
“The Foundation is really excited about partnering with Mayfair to make sure these works of art are seen, appreciated, and purchased by the public so we can fund more creative educational opportunities for our school children,” she added.
Frames ranging in sizes from 8” x 10“ all the way up to 30” x 40“ are needed.
Donors can drop frames at any branch of People First Federal Credit Union:
