Reports of shots being fired and an armed robbery kept Allentown police busy Wednesday night into Thusday morning.
The first incident happened around 10:45 p.m.
Police were dispatched to 323 N. Fountain Street where they collected evidence of shots that were fired.
Police said they stopped a man a short distance from the area who had evidence from the shooting scene.
The man was identified as 29-year-old Angel Montanez, who was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
The shooting remains under investigation.
Less than four hours later, around 2:10 a.m. Thursday, police were investigating a strongarm robbery.
A 52-year-old man, Jesus Vazquez, suffered injuries from an assault in the 500 block of Allen Street, police said.
Vazquez told police he was approached by several black men who demanded money, assaulted him and took an unknown amount of cash. They then fled the area.
