Allentown shootings

Allentown police are continuing to investigate a pair of shootings that happened within four hours Friday night into Saturday morning, killing one man and injuring another.

As of Sunday morning, the suspects in both shootings remain at-large. There is nothing to indicate the shootings are related in any way.

Police say the fatal shooting occurred around 2:33 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Green Street.

The shooting victim, 33-year-old Kareem Grant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim says Grant died from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

The coroner has ruled the death a homicide.

At this point, authorities are not saying if they have identified a motive for the shooting or a possible suspect.

The other shooting occurred around three hours earlier just before 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Police say the shooting happened following an argument at the Sunoco A Plus Mini Market at 12th and Hamilton streets.

Police say the victim, a 32-year-old man, was parked at the gas station when a man walked up to this vehicle and began an argument. Police say the victim drove off and the man ran after the car, firing off several gunshots.

The shooting victim was struck by a bullet in the area of 12th and Linden streets, and continued driving to Lehigh Valley Hospital at 17th and Chew streets, where he was treated for a superficial gunshot wound, according to police.

Police say they located a number of gun casings at 12th and Linden streets.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.

Anyone with information on either of these incidents is asked to call Allentown police at 610-437-7721 or the Allentown Communications Center at 610-437-7751.
