An Allentown man is facing federal charges after authorities say he made false reports and statements to a federal office.

David Unterberg, 52, is accused of submitting invoices seeking reimbursement for expenses and wages related to conferences that he didn't attend, which were paid for with funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Unterberg did receive reimbursements for the invoices.

The incidents allegedly happened between May and December of 2010.

Unterberg was the owner of a company known as Community Programs Incorporated (CP), which provided services to the Borough of Tamaqua, Schuylkill Co.., as part of a federal Community Development Block Grant.

A judge will determine Untererg's guilt or innocence.

If found guilty, Unterberg could face a year in prison, then supervised release and a fine.
