Activists urge immigration reform

Activists in Allentown are urging Congress to sign off on the latest plan for immigration reform.
The group gathered Tuesday afternoon in downtown Allentown. They are calling on the House of Representatives to approve the immigration bill approved by the Senate.

That plan would provide a path to citizenship to undocumented immigrants.

"We have 11 million people undocumented in this country: people that work, people that we pray with, people that we work with and they deserve a chance to be legal, legalized in this country," said Cynthia Mota, Allentown City Council.

So far, Republican leaders in the House say the Senate bill is a non-starter in their chamber.

House Speaker John Boehner says more attention must be given to improving border security.
