Comic Bill "Here's Your Sign" Engvall might appreciate what a Lehigh County man did near Liberty High School on Tuesday night, but Bethlehem police did not find it funny at all.
Zymier D. Johnson-Nobles was caught in the back seat of a car holding a portable "Yield to Pedestrians" sign he had grabbed from the middle of the road in the 200 block of East Fairview Street, near Liberty High School, at about 10:45 p.m., officials said.
Bethlehem Area School District security officer Wilford Williams stopped the car Johnson-Nobles was riding in, and he told police he saw Johnson-Nobles leave the car and take the $223 sign, which is owned by the district, officials said.
Johnson-Nobles, 19, of 731 Front St., Catasauqua, was arraigned early Wednesday morning on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and disorderly conduct and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. March 29.
