Xavier Byrd knocks girlfriend's tooth loose, police say

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A man attacked his girlfriend and knocked loose one of her teeth, officials said.

Xavier Byrd grabbed his girlfriend by the neck, slammed her into a couch and then hit her in the face hard enough to loosen a tooth during a fight in their home at 1161 East 3rd St., Bethlehem, at 1:30 a.m. Friday, officials said.

Byrd, 38, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $7,500 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m,. Feb. 28.
