BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A local woman made a very special delivery to Lehigh Valley Hospital on Friday.

Over the past month, Donna Hosfeld, of Hosfeld Insurance in Macungie, Lehigh Co., has been collecting knitted hats donated by members of the community.

She delivered them all to the pediatric oncology clinic at Lehigh Valley Hospital's Muhlenberg campus, and the patients got to pick their favorite to keep.

Hosfeld said she hopes the hats will help boost the kids' spirits.

"They're going through so much, more than any of us can even imagine, and if this just gives them a little sparkle. Some of the kids that were here this morning, when they got their hats, they were really excited, and they forget about everything else they have to endure. So those moments make it worth it all," said Hosfeld.

In all, Hosfeld said she was able to collect close to 300 hats to donate to the hospital.
