A local dog has been on the run since November, but trackers are hot on her heels.

Ruby, a 10-year-old white female greyhound, ran away from her home in Allentown on Nov. 13. Since then, she has been spotted six times.

She was seen in Hellertown, Northampon Co., on Jan. 7. Now, she could be in the Richland Twp., Bucks Co., area.

The roaming canine's saga has attracted more than 1,300 followers on Facebook.

"It's overwhelming because you don't know where to start," said Beth Hoffman, Ruby's owner, adding that the amount of support from complete strangers is also overwhelming.

Those strangers have helped Hoffman search for Ruby and given her donations of $1,300 and counting to help pay for the search.

That was enough money to call in Lost Pet Professionals, of Connecticut. Jordina Ghiggeri is using three highly trained dogs -- Brodie, Nash and Ruckus -- to confirm Ruby sightings.

Ghiggeri is hoping to establish a pattern of travel and get out ahead of her with a poster campaign.

"In order to get her, we have to get her to stop moving. You know, we could follow her for months, but we need to know where she is going to be more regularly so we can move to capture," said Ghiggeri.

Hoffman said she thinks about that moment constantly and is thankful for the kindness of complete strangers, who could turn a thought into reality.

"She's my four-legged daughter," said Hoffman. "And I won't stop until I find her, until we find her."
