Katie Hoff, 13, has a zoo of stuffed animals in her living room. She's well on her way to collecting more than 100 toys, and none of them are for her. Every last one will be donated to Toys For Tots. And Katie has a simple answer when it comes to her generosity.

"I think it's important for every child to have a stuffed animal to hold at night."

The Lower Saucon teen has been helping other kids since she was 10, when she asked her mom if she could give all her birthday presents to a charity.

"It was just the best thing, seeing families come in with smiles on their faces knowing they were going to have Christmas," smiled Katie.

Knowing every donation counts, Katie printed 70 fliers this year and rode her bike around the neighborhood putting them in mailboxes. Her goal, to give away nearly 200 stuffed toys.

"Just a couple days after we sent the fliers out we already had bags of stuffed animals coming in and people wanting to donate."

Katie will stop collecting the plushies December 15th. She says she's excited for her biggest donating season yet.

"Last year we collected around 93, and my goal was to double that," said Katie. "And now that the drive is ending soon I'm not sure that we'll get that, but I'm glad we have what we have."

If you want to help Katie on her quest to make a child happy this holiday, you can drop off a new stuffed animal at the boxes in the Saucon Valley high, middle and elementary schools. The collection ends next Saturday.
