The Southern Lehigh School Board approved the preliminary budget for the 2013-14 school year at its meeting on Monday night.
The preliminary budget was approved for $55,599,229. The Board does not expect a tax increase for next school year, but states that there may some small changes in the budget prior to final approval next month.
The Board explained that the millage may change before final approval, but that change should not affect any expected revenues from the budget.
The approved preliminary budget will be posted on the School District website as well as be available in the District Administration Building. It is required that the District make the preliminary budget available for public review for at least 30 days prior to final Board approval.
The Board plans to make the final vote on the 2013-14 school year budget at their second meeting in May. However, if there are any significant changes to be made to the budget, the Board may push the final vote to their meeting in June.
