A man was arrested for injuring his stepdaughter by throwing her across a table that had broken glass on it, officials said.
Gary N. Weekes attacked the 16-year-old girl after an argument in their home in the 1300 block of Wayne St., Easton, at about 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.
Weekes became angry during dinner because his stepdaughter did not help another girl in the home who was having a seizure and fell down the steps, officials said.
After confronting his stepdaughter, Weekes pushed her in the face and she fell against a wall, officials said, adding that after the girl took a swing at Weekes, he held her against a table, which caused a vase on the table to break.
Weekes threw the girl across the glass-strewn table and then grabbed her by the neck, causing cuts to the girl's left temple and thumb and scratches on her back, officials said.
Weekes, 42, was arraigned on charges of child endangerment, assault and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $20,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 11.
