Part of building collapses in Catasauqua

CATASAUQUA, Pa. -

Part of a home in Catasauqua, Lehigh Co., collapsed Sunday.

The home on Crane Street, an alley near Church and Second streets, has been falling down, neighbors said. We're told the home is vacant and has been for quite some time.

Emergency crews were called in Sunday night to monitor the situation, and crews at the scene told us a demolition crew was called to the scene Sunday night.

Several people were also evacuated from their homes.

The Red Cross is assisting two families -- one with food and lodging -- and the Lehigh Valley County Animal Rescue and Response Team (CART) will assist the family with their pets.

The other family received food, and the Red Cross will follow up with the family for additional services, if needed.
