The Northampton Borough Council was planning for spring, despite the expected inclement weather this weekend.

The council approved two requests to rent out the Borough Band Trailer during the summer. The Schnecksville Fire Company will use it for the Schnecksville Community Fair from June 17-22 and Hanover Township will be using it from May 16-18 for its annual fair.

Council also approved several requests to utilize the Municipal Park and portable band trailer throughout the summer for the Fire Department’s Spring Thaw Rendezvous, the Northampton Exchange Community Days, and for various local church organizations.

They informed the public of various important spring dates to keep in mind.

According to council, the first day for residents to rent pavilions and ball fields at the various parks throughout the Borough is March 1.

The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 23 at 11 a.m. with a rain date of March 24 at 1 p.m.

Although council is eagerly looking forward to warmer weather, it's fully prepared for the expected snowfall this weekend.

According to Borough Manager Gene Zarayko, two crews are scheduled to plow Friday with five trucks on the streets.

Zarayko said the Borough is fully prepared to deal with any inclement weather with minimal inconvenience to the residents.
