New Smartphone mobile game unveiled by Lehigh Valley company
Could it be bigger than Words with Friends?
The Lehigh Valley makers of a new smartphone mobile game hope so.
It's the newest way to share pictures.
But unlike Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, anyMoment could land users some sweet prizes.
"You get an alert on your phone and it might say go capture beauty and then you take a picture of what you think is beauty and you send it in," said Jeff Teschke, founder of Forege Three.
Users then rate the pictures and the person with the most points at the end of the game wins a prize.
anyMoment is the creation of Forge Three based in Bethlehem.
"We actually have a business model around it where some of these games, not all of them will be sponsored," said Teschke.
Teschke says the company is already signed on to do a game with children's cancer charity Alex's Lemonade Stand and is talking to several companies about sponsorship and revenue opportunities.
The app is being Beta tested at the Ben Franklin Tech Ventures on Lehigh University's campus.
So far 100 people have been kicking the tires so the company can work out any bugs before the app launches in January.
"It's kind of exciting because you see this thing kind of take life and you are breathing life into it and then the real proof is in the pudding when the app gets into the hands of the players that have no idea what it is at first," said Teschke.
The app will be limited to the iPhone at first, but will be expanded to android down the road.
To download it for free all you have to do is go to getmoment.com.
