PLAINFIELD TWP., Pa. -

A man was drunk when he lost control of his 1998 Dodge Neon rounding a curve and ran it into a home last year, officials said.

Hilton B. Strunk III had a blood alcohol level of .11 -- .03 higher than the legal limit -- when he ran over a street name sign, hit a tree and then crashed the porch of a home at 1559 Delabole Road, Plainfield Twp., Northampton Co., at about 2:10 a.m. May 20, 2012, officials said.

Strunk told police he had been driving 35 miles per hour when he missed the sharp left curve near Mack Road, and admitted he had consumed several shots of liquor 20 minutes before and four or five beers four hours earlier, officials said.

Strunk, 25, of 25 South 7th St., Bangor, was arraigned Monday on charges of DUI, driving without insurance and driving at an unsafe speed and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 2.
