LEHIGH TWP., Pa. -

A family of six was displaced as a result of a Friday night fire in Lehigh Township.

Northampton County and Lehigh County firefighters battled the blaze in the 3500 block of Beech Drive, communications officials from both counties said. A 69 News crew that was on the scene said part of the home appears destroyed.

The American Red Cross Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter is assisting two adults and four children who were displaced. The Red Cross provided lodging, food, clothing for six and seasonal garments for two. The Red Cross will follow up with the family for additional services, if needed, notes a release from the organization.

The Red Cross says the public can assist by making a donation. Visit www.redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS, (1-800-733-2767).
