Late night crash kills one, injures two others

Allentown Fatal crash

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Two people were injured and one was killed after an accident early Sunday in Allentown.

Police say it happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning in the 1700 block of Hanover Avenue.

Crews on the scene said two cars crashed head-on.

The Lehigh County coroner's office said 40-year-old Manuel A. Jerez-Polanco of 320 S. Carlisle St. in Allentown was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner said the cause of death was due to blunt force trauma and was an accident.

The two other victims were transported to a nearby hospital where one is listed in critical condition. 

Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
