PALMER TWP., Pa. -

A man elbowed his fiancee in her shoulder and stopped to slap her while they were out driving with their two children, officials said.

Justin A. Ostrander struck his fiancee's left shoulder with his elbow about 20 times after the couple began arguing in his car, which was traveling along Green Pond Road near the Palmer Community Center in Palmer Twp., Northampton Co., at about 5 p.m. Sunday, officials said.

The couple's 2-year-old and 5-year-old were in the car, officials added.

Ostrander stopped his vehicle on South Wtson Street, Palmer Twp., and slapped his fiancee's face, then dropped her and the 2-year-old at her mother's home, officials said.

Ostrander was arrested at his home at 620 Walnut St., Easton, at about 9:10 p.m., officials said.

Ostrander, 28, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 1.
