This coming Sunday is "Three Kings Day" or "Dia de los Reyes" as it's known in Latin America.
January 6th, known as the "Epiphany" in the Catholic church is the day the Three Kings arrived bearing gifts to baby Jesus.
However did you know it's also the day many children throughout Latin America and Spain receive their Christmas gifts?
"We of course in the United States celebrate that Santa comes and brings the gifts but in many countries, predominantly in Latino countries and in Spain, the Three Kings bring the gifts for the children” said Julie Benjamin with ArtsQuest.
To help families in our area continue that tradition with their families, ArtsQuest is hosting its first "Three Kings Day" celebration.
"So we're glad to have live music here, arts and crafts and the three kings are with us so that's a really wonderful way for the kids to see up close and personal what this tradition really means” said Benjamin.
Many families, primarily Mexican also celebrate the day by eating a bread like pastry called la 'Rosca de los Reyes'.
Latino bakeries in our area like the "Quetzal bakery" in Bethlehem have been busy taking orders.
And it's what inside the bread that counts, not only is it filled with cheese and raisins and fruits, but each bread has a little figurine of a baby Jesus.
It's said whoever finds that figurine is blessed with good luck for the rest of the year.
The celebration takes place at the ArtsQuest center in Bethlehem this Sunday from 3 to 7pm.
The event is free and open to the public.
