Hayden Phillips announces candidacy for Northampton County Council

Hayden Phillips announces his candidacy for Northampton County Council.

Phillips, a Republican, is seeking election to one of the five at-large seats in 2013.

He has spent his career in the information technology industry and for the past 20 years has been in project and program management.


He's also an adjunct professor at Penn State-Lehigh Valley.

He has a bachelors degree from Mansfield University and a Masters in Business Administration from Lehigh University.

Phillips is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., and after discharge from active duty, continued with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He retired from the reserves with the rank of colonel.

He says his training and experience will be a real asset in influencing the county’s budget process and monitoring its overall fiscal responsibility.  Also, in his experience in business,  he has mastered group facilitation, group dynamics and consensus building, skills he feels are important to county council members as they work on council as a team.

This is his first run for elected office.
