The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded $104,025 in grants to the Friedens Volunteer Fire Company for operations and safety, U.S. Senator Bob Casey announced Thursday.
“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” said Senator Casey. “This money will help provide Lehigh County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”
Funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, which aims to strengthen the health and safety of the nation’s first responders and those they serve, Casey said.
