Fire damages Allentown grocery

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Investigators are searching for the cause of a fire inside a corner grocery store in Allentown.

The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Delgado Grocery at 9th and Allen streets.

Crews were able to knock down the flames in about 15 minutes. The fire appears to be electrical in nature, and started behind the freezer area in the store, officials said.

There are three apartments above the store, two of which are vacant. The resident of the third apartment should be able to return, officials said.

It's not clear if anyone was injured or how much damage the fire caused.
