The lobby of Emmaus Borough Hall was rededicated during a brief ceremony on Tuesday night.
According to the Borough’s website, “the fresh coat of paint on the walls in the offices, Council Chambers and lobby at Borough Hall, along with The Emmaus Anniversary Gallery is a collection of color and memorabilia compiled by the Emmaus Arts Commission at the request of Borough Council.”
The lobby walls have been decorated with memorabilia from the 2009 Borough Anniversary Celebration and several paintings done by local artist, Bob Boehmer. Boehmer, who was present at the dedication, stated that he felt the display throughout the lobby was “a community effort.”
The Mayor, Borough Manager, and several members of Borough Council spoke at the dedication.
“I’m very pleased,” stated Mayor Winfield “Winnie” Iobst. “Keep the brightness going [Emmaus] Arts Commission,” he continued.
“I’d like to thank the Public Works Department, the [Emmaus] Arts Commission, and everyone involved,” stated Borough Manager Shane Pepe.
Borough Councilman Nathan Brown informed the audience present at the dedication that historical artifacts from throughout the Borough have been displayed in two other locations along with Borough Hall. According to Brown, artifacts have also been on display at the Emmaus Historical Society and at the Public Library.
