Easton mayor: 'Nuisance bar' closing this month

An Easton bar that was the scene of a deadly shooting is closing.
Mayor Sal Panto says Eddie G's will be out of business by the end of the month.
But some say the bar is getting a bad rap.
On a Friday night, Centre Square in Easton is the place to be for many.
But the news of one local watering hole closing isn't putting some in a festive mood.
"I really don't want to have to find a new place to meet friends, to shoot pool, and have an after work beer," said Sherman Reams, a customer of Eddie G's.
Eddie G's will be closing according to Easton Mayor Sal Panto.
On February 9, a man was killed outside of the bar.
Easton police call the shooting gang related.
"They gave them a bad rap on that," said Reams.
Reams is a regular and says most days people get along.
As a former bouncer, Reams wished the city would have just required tighter security instead of seeing the owners shut the bar down.
"They should pat down, check people, little pocket knives, whatever, any sharp objects, anything that could hurt a customer."
We talked to several owners that are right around Eddie G's.
A lot of them wouldn't go on camera, but they say they are glad the city has handled the problem.
"Out of all the bars around here, this had the most people in it," added Reams.
An attorney for the owners of the bar say they're letting the lease run out because they want to do what's best for the community.
Last call for Eddie G's will be by the end of the month, when the bar closes its doors for good.
