The Easton Council on Wednesday night adopted a resolution in honor of a longtime city employee who recently passed away.
The Council resolution recognized the dedicated service of Joseph L. Daiello, a 30-year employee of the city highway department who died Dec. 17, 2012, at the age of 77.
"He was small in stature but huge in heart," said Mayor Sal Panto, who singled out Daiello's devotion to his family and dedication to the city as both an employee and volunteer.
The Council resolution notes that Daiello was a "dedicated faithful city employee and citizen. He performed his duties in an excellent and professional manner and was held in the highest esteem and affection by both friends and colleagues."
The resolution notes Daiello's civic roles in the community as a member of local religious and social organizations, including St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Fleas Club.
"We join in expressing our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family at this time of their bereavement," the Council resolution states.
