A couple who showed up a half-hour early for a custody visit are in trouble with the law for their part in a fight that injured two people, officials said.
Olivia M. Marth and Todd A. Beltzner were arrested after an altercation at the home of Edward D. Marth, 4905 Hillside Rd., East Allen Twp., Northampton Co., at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.
Marth and Beltzer arrived at the home 30 minutes early for a custody visit with the Marths' daughter, and when Olivia Martz was leaving she attacked Kaitlin Kunkel in a yard behind the home, officials said.
Marth hit Kunkel in the head and ribs several times, kneed her in the face and head and broke her nose, officials said.
When Edward Marth tried to separate the women, Beltzer attacked him, hitting him several time in the face and neck and biting his back, officials said, adding that Beltzner may also have a broken bone near Marth's eye socket.
Olivia Marth, 22, of 721 Fiot St., Bethlehem, and Beltzner, 22, of 104 Woods Road, Palmerton, Carbon Co., were both arraigned on assault, harassment and disorderly conduct charges and each was committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing for both is set for 9 a.m. March 29.
