Congressman Dent held court with constituents Tuesday.
Dent held a meeting in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, his fifth since January.
For an hour, Dent took questions and gave answers on several topics from veterans care to Medicare and the sequester.
He also touched on the Keystone XL pipeline and demonstrated why he believes it should be built.
"If we do not take the Canadian oil, we will end up taking Venezuelan oil," he said. "I would much rather be in a political bed with Stephen Harper of Canada than Hugo Chavez in Venezuela."
Dent also says time is running out to reform Medicare and other mandatory care programs that are in danger of becoming insolvent.
And on guns Dent talked about enhancing background checks for sales of long guns but he says a bigger problem is not having mental health data available for background checks.
