A man injured his pregnant girlfriend last month by driving away as she was holding on to a door handle on his car, officials said.
Andrew Stroud Jr. caused the woman, who said she was 8-and-a-half months pregnant with their child, to fall to the ground on her stomach outside their home in the 1300 block of Washington Street at 6 p.m. on Jan. 18, officials said.
The woman told police Stroud looked at her before driving off, officials said.
The woman's injuries, which included cuts to her hand, required medical attention, and medical authorities also evaluated the health of her unborn child, officials said.
Stroud, 32, was arraigned Friday night on charges of aggravated assault on an unborn child, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. March 4.
