It's time to take a look back at the stories making headlines this week in the 69 News Week In Review.

Monday, a man was sentenced to decades behind bars after pleading guilty to murdering a retired teacher from Monroe County.

Rico Herbert was sentenced to 31 to 62 years in prison for the murder of 87-year-old Joseph DeVivo in 2012.

Police said Herbert was found driving DeVivo's car in North Carolina. DeVivo's body was later found in South Carolina.

On Tuesday, a Northampton County family filed a lawsuit against the Nazareth School District over a dispute about a religious message in a Valentine's Day card.

Parents of a first grade student said officials violated their son's Constitutional rights by removing a religious message he put in a Valentine's card.. because of a district policy.

Wednesday, a dispute at a Harrisburg bar thrust a lawmaker from the Lehigh Valley into the spotlight.

State Senator Lisa Boscola denied claims she got into an alcohol-fueled fight at a Harrisburg bar.

Boscola said it was no more than a heated political disagreement, but others claimed the lawmaker hit a woman and was kicked out of the bar.

On Thursday, the Allentown woman who admitted to leaving her newborn baby in a restaurant bathroom toilet tank was convicted of first-degree murder.

The conviction carries an automatic life sentence in prison.

Amanda Hein told the court she believed the baby was dead when she gave birth inside a bathroom at Starter's Pub in Lower Saucon Township last August.
