69 News Week In Review
It's time to take a look back at the stories making headlines this week in the 69 News Week In Review.
Monday, an animal cruelty investigation was launched in Monroe County after two dogs were found inside plastic bags on the side of the road.
One of the dogs died and the other is recovering at a shelter not far from where it was found in Stroud Township.
Later in the week, three more dogs were found in plastic bags. Officials believe the cases are connected.
On Tuesday, police said a field hockey coach in Berks County admitted to covering up the rape of a 16-year-old girl.
Authorities said Alicia Colon, ex-assistant field hockey coach at Kutztown Area High School, should have alerted police when a 16-year-old girl told her that she had been raped.
The crime allegedly happened in a hotel in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County in early August.
Wednesday, a judge ordered the extradition of a man who allegedly pulled the trigger in a deadly shooting in Lehigh County.
Ulysses Rodriguez, who goes by the street name "Slime," waived extradition in Suffolk County, New York, where he was arrested in late-November.
He's accused of killing 21-year-old Tyree Wimberly last January. Police said Rodriguez shot Wimberly outside Scoobie's Gentlemen's Club after Wimberly refused to buy marijuana from him.
On Thursday, the Northampton County woman and her boyfriend who pulled off a robbery that caused the death of the woman's grandmother were sentenced to life in prison.
Officials said Rebecca Johnson and her former boyfriend Rogel Suero caused 76-year-old Carrie Smith to have a fatal heart attack when they robbed her Wilson Borough home last year.
