Monday, a Lehigh County man was charged with vehicular homicide for causing a crash that claimed three lives.
Police say John Edward Mayer of Slatington was driving more than twice the speed limit when he crashed into another car in Whitehall Township this past February.
Investigators say Mayer's pick-up truck hit the other car with such force that it sent both vehicles flying more than 100 feet from an intersection and killed a mother and her 16-year-old son, along with the passenger in Mayer's truck.
On Tuesday, four people were hospitalized and 19 left homeless by a fire at an apartment and bar building in Northampton County that officials said was intentionally set.
Police said the fire was started by a woman during a domestic dispute inside one of the apartments of the Mineral Springs building in Forks Township.

Friday, police said a 20-year-old Easton man confessed to shooting and killing a woman in the city last month.
Officials said Kahmir De'Lapara admitted to the crime after being picked up on drug charges following a raid.
Police said De'Lapara shot 28-year-old Amanda Stratford multiple times.
