It's time to take a look back at the stories making headlines this week in the 69 News Week In Review.

Monday, Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski officially kicked off his campaign for governor.


With community and local political leaders by his side in downtown Allentown, Pawlowski kicked off the first leg of his 20-county, 9-day RV tour of the state.

Pawlowski joins a long list of Democrats looking to unseat Republican Governor Tom Corbett.

Tuesday, authorities began investigating a high school football game gone violently awry.

Investigators are reviewing this footage from last Friday night's game between Hamburg and Annville-Cleona in Lebanon County.

The video shows Hamburg starting quarterback Joe Cominsky ripping off an opposing player's helmet and them hitting him twice in the head.

The incident remains under investigation.

So far no charges have been filed.

On Wednesday, a Lehigh Valley doctor was arrested for allegedly trying to kill his son-in-law.

Police said Dr. Georges Bensimhon drove all the way to Ohio, where he ambushed and tried to kill Allen Hoffer.

Police said Hoffer and Bensimhon's daughter were in the middle of a nasty divorce.

Bensihmon refused comment when 69 News visited his home in South Whitehall Township.

Thursday, an inferno consumed six blocks of the boardwalk on Seaside Park in Ocean County, New Jersey.

More than 400 firefighters were called in to battle the blaze.

Residents from our area who frequent the shore point said they are dismayed over the destruction, just when it appeared the boardwalk had finally recovered from Superstrom Sandy.

Friday, a frightening accident in downtown Reading sent a pregnant woman to the hospital.

The accident at 8th and Penn streets forced several pedestrians scrambling to get out of the way, including a woman and a child in a stroller.

There's still no word on the pregnant woman's condition.
