It's time to take a look back at the stories making headlines this week in the 69 News Week In Review.

Monday, the Labor Day holiday turned to tragedy when a man fell into a lake and died in Lehigh County.


51-year-old Douglas Bachman died after falling into the lake by the Grouse Hall Fish and Game in North Whitehall Township.

Bachman was pulled from the lake by emergency workers. He died a short time later at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Tuesday, a municipal board in the Poconos met for the first time since a deadly shooting claimed three lives at the group's previous meeting.

The Ross Township Supervisors met in a neighboring community, nearly a month after officials said Rockne Newell shot and killed three people at the local municipal building.

As they continued to grieve Tuesday night, town leaders made plans to construct a new municipal building.

On Wednesday, the assistant manager of a store in Berks County was accused of an elaborate scheme to steal thousands of dollars.

Police said Krystal Prieto stole more than $11,000 in bank deposits from the Family Dollar near 9th and Penn streets in Reading.

They said she staged an auto theft while she was supposed to deposit money in the bank. Police said they later tracked down the car and the missing money.

Prieto has maintained she's innocent.

Thursday, investigators in Reading said they nabbed six drug dealers and dozens of users during a two-day sting.

Detectives spent two months investigating the area of South 6th and Chestnut Streets, making 28 arrests.

They said that area has become notorious for drug activity.

Friday, friends and family mourned the loss of a woman who was struck and killed by an ice cream delivery truck in Allentown.

It happened Thursday at 18th and Tilghman streets.

Police said they are still investigating how 42-year-old Evandora Wheeler ended up underneath the truck.
