Police have apprehended two men in connection with multiple burglaries in the Mount Penn area.
The men, ages 18 and 20, were nabbed Friday morning as they were fleeing from a home they had just burglarized in Pennside, said police, adding that the suspects attempted an earlier break-in nearby but were scared off by someone in the home.
Both suspects, whose names have not yet been released, were in possession of stolen cash, jewelry and electronic equipment when they were apprehended, said police.
The 20-year-old man later confessed to committing at least five burglaries in the Mount Penn and Lower Alsace Township area over the past few days, police said.
The 18-year-old admitted only to his role in the two incidents on Friday.
Both men are facing charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.
