Forty-one-year-old Nathan Andres of Bethlehem has been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.

Bethlehem police say he poured hot water on her, stomped on her foot and grabbed her neck.

Andres was charged with harassment and simple assault.

The incident happened at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday at the defendant's home in the 1500 block of Main Street in Bethlehem.

The female victim told police Andres was her boyfriend. They had an argument, which escalated while she was heating water for tea in the kitchen.

Andres threatened to "knock her teeth down her throat" if she touched him, the woman told police.

He then stomped on her left foot and dumped a cup of hot water on her, burning her right hip.  She told police he then grabbed her neck and pinned her against the kitchen wall.

While holding her there, he allegedly said he could "take her out" adding, if he did,  at least he would have "three hots and a cot."

When police arrived, they observed a red mark on the woman's right hip that was consistent with a burn.

The defendant is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing tentatively is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Feb. 19 before Magisterial District Judge James Narlesky in Bethlehem.
