Survivors of Suicide Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

Dozens of people gathered together in the Lehigh Valley Saturday morning for the 15th Annual International Survivors of Suicide Day.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention held the event at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Muhlenberg in Bethlehem.

The group played a national video discussing suicide and grief.

Organizers want people to know they're here for them.

Marie Bartos said, "Suicide survivors, or survivors of suicide loss need to know that they're not alone and this is a safe place they can come and be with each other, to support each other."

AFSP encourages anyone thinking about committing suicide or affected by suicide to call the suicide prevention hot line.
