HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

You may want to keep your eye on the sky this weekend. The Lehigh Valley Airshow starts Saturday.

The point of an air show is to see what aircraft aren't supposed to do.

"So airplanes are tumbling, end over end, smoke and noise is what it's all about," explained Bill Stein, a show pilot.

New this year is the world's only privately owned Sea Harrier, a jet that can hover like a helicopter. The high flying acts have been expanded and include four separate four ship formation teams.

On the ground, fans can get an inside, interactive look into the world of NASA, which includes potential "selfies" in a space suit or in one of four different, out-of-this-world scenes. The goal is to educate people about deep space exploration.

Ever use FedEx and wonder how your package gets to its destination? Now you can check it out inside a FedEx plane. The cargo hold and the cockpit, complete with "Castaway" star Wilson, are available to the public.

"We learned our lesson last year," said Skip Lehman, the show promoter

This year, Lehman said, there are three entry points into the air show instead of one and 11,000 parking spaces, eliminating the need for a shuttle. There are also 25 concession stands, compared to just seven last year. It's all to alleviate the traffic, parking, and concession headaches of 2013.

"This year all about the guest experience coming in, no lines for concession, more stuff on the ground to see more and more stuff in the air to see," Lehman said.

Ground acts also include a car show and a races between sports cars, motorcycles and planes.

Flights Saturday start at noon but gates open at 9 a.m.  If you are flying commercial this weekend, don't worry. They will be departing as scheduled from the airport.
