Lehigh Co. man dies from Rt 22 crash injuries

HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

A 56-year-old Lehigh County man was killed early Saturday morning when his car was hit from behind on Route 22.

The accident happened around 5 a.m. as Mark Durrenberger's car was stopped on the side of the highway in the area of Schoenersville Road on the Lehigh/Northampton County border in Hanover Twp.

The Lehigh County coroner's office said Durrenberger, of the 6800 block of Flint Hill Road in New Tripoli, died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill.

He died of multiple blunt force trauma and the manner of death was ruled an accident by the coroner's office.

Pa. State Police at Bethlehem barracks, along with the coroner's office, are investigating.
