Restaurant becomes church

WALNUTPORT, Pa. -

A former Lehigh Valley restaurant is going from filling tummies to filling spirits.

The old Terrace Restaurant in Walnutport is now the Northern Lehigh Bible Fellowship Church.

The landmark restaurant on Best Avenue had been closed for several years before being bought by the church.

The church held its first official service at the new location Sunday morning.

Church members have been hard at work since July to convert the building into a house of worship.

Pastor Aaron Smith said, "It's a testament to our people that they're here to serve and they want to bless the community. That's what we're here for."

The new church represents a merger of the Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church and Calvary Bible Fellowship.
