John Niko died of multiple blunt force trauma, officials say

RARITAN TWP., Pa. -

An autopsy has revealed how a murdered Hunterdon Co., N.J. man died last week.

The county medical examiner said 35-year-old John Niko died of blunt force trauma to the head and chest, as well as multiple stab wounds.

Niko was found murdered in his Raritan Twp. townhouse after he failed to show up for work Friday afternoon.

A suspect, 39-year-old Gary Passarelli of North Plainfield Twp., was arrested and remains in the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Passarelli is facing first degree murder charges.

Officials said the two men had known each other for a long time.
