Woman denies trying to sell her baby in Reading

READING, Pa. -

A Reading woman has been charged after allegedly attempting to sell her child for $300.

Jessica Alberta approached a neighbor in the 200 block of South 6th Street on the morning of Sept. 10 and asked if she was willing to buy her child for $300, according to court documents.

The neighbor declined and called social services to report the incident, police said.

Alberta returned two days later, standing below an open second floor window of the neighbor's home and yelling in Spanish, "If you call social services again I will come back and stab you with a knife," according to court documents.

Alberta, 22, was charged Tuesday with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and disorderly conduct. She was freed on $2,500 bail.
