PONOCO TWP., Pa. -

A man who came to claim property left in a rental truck finds himself facing drug paraphernalia charges.

Employees of Mount Pocono Storage on Route 196 in Monroe County were cleaning out a rental truck August 19 that had been returned overnight when they found possible drug paraphernalia, police said.

The employees called police and said a man had called the company asking about the item. When they told the man the items had been disposed of, the man became irate and said he would come there to get it back, police said.

In the meantime, a uniformed police officer arrived and while taking down information, 27-year-old Ivan Carter of Tannersville came into the business and asked for his marijuana grinder.

According to police, Carter identified the grinder the officer was holding as the one belonging to him, and demanded its return, despite being told it was considered drug paraphernalia and illegal to possess.

The grinder was taken as evidence and charges of possession of drug paraphernalia is pending against Carter, police said.
