At least three people were shot Wednesday at an office building in Phoenix, according to multiple news reports.
One of the people shot is in extremely critical condition; the injuries of two others are less severe, The Associated Press reported.
The Arizona Republic reported three others were taken to local hospitals but details were not immediately available about the nature of their injuries.
The newspaper, citing police, said officers believe one person is responsible for the shooting and that he is still on the loose.
Phoenix police said the shooting was not random, the AP reported.
According to KSAZ, the man entered one of the businesses at about 10:30 a.m. looking for people, had some sort of fight and opened fire.
Officers were searching multiple locations and interviewing witnesses, CNN reported.
CNN said police were looking for a white male in his 60s in connection with the incident.
Police had surrounded a house seven miles from the shooting scene that was reportedly connected to the shooting, the AP reported. Officers there were talking to someone who was not the suspect, Sgt. Steve Martos told the AP.
