A fighting husband and wife both were arrested on domestic violence charges Saturday night by Upper Nazareth Township police.
Charged were 50-year-old Phillip Angel Palmer, Sr., and 42-year-old Allison Cheryl Palmer.
Both were arraigned long before dawn Sunday and charged with harassment, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
At 10:37 p.m. Saturday, Upper Nazareth Township police were dispatched to 101 W. Allen St. to check on the welfare of two adults involved in a domestic dispute.
Phillip Palmer's face was covered in blood when he answered the door, according to police. He had scratch marks on his face and arms and also had blood on his hands, arms and stomach.
Palmer told police that he and his wife got into an argument that got out of hand.
He said she punched him in the face several times, causing a bloody nose.
Police found Allison Palmer hiding under the covers in an upstairs bedroom. She told police she didn't know what happened. Police said she was not cooperative.
Both husband and wife admitted to police that they had been drinking earlier at a Christmas party. Police said they observed a strong odor of alcohol on both defendants.
Police did not identify the nature of the argument.
His bail was set at $20,000, hers at $10,000. Both posted bail and were released.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Dec. 31 before Magisterial District Judge John Capobianco. Her hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Dec. 31 before the same judge.
