READING, Pa. -

Preparations for a death-defying stunt are underway at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Following Friday's Reading Fightin Phils game, a human cannonball will launch.

Dave "The Bullet" Smith will be shot from behind second base. He'll go about six stories up and travel about 150 feet to land near home plate.

Smith said he loves the reaction he gets to his stunt.

"The cannon fires. I hear this big intake of breath. Then it's silence. I keep flying through the air. When I hit the net, they scream, everybody, they let it out," Smith said. "It's a pretty high impact thing to watch."

Smith is a second generation human cannonball.  He's been doing the stunt for 16 years, performing about 300 shows a year.
