Firefighters battled massive flames as they tried to save a home, but in the end the fire won.
Crews from multiple departments tanked water to the scene of the fire in the 2600 block of Cherry Orchard Road in Lower Towamensing Twp., Carbon Co.
It broke out around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Fire officials said one person was home at the time the fire started but was able to get out safely.
The Red Cross is assisting the resident.
The mobile home was a complete loss. It took firefighters about an hour to control the blaze.
Officials said it appears the fire started in a bedroom, but damage is so significant that it could be some time before a cause can be determined.
Investigators have not determined what sparked the fire.
