FREEMANSBURG, Pa. -

A Delaware County man wanted for aggravated assault in New Jersey was taken into custody in Northampton County soon after he was given emergency CPR treatment.

John W. Guzikowski was arrested about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, just before he was taken to the hospital for evaluation after receiving emergency CPR from Toni Ann Applegate in her apartment at 650 Ramblewood Lane, Freemansburg.

Applegate administered CPR after Guzikowski had stopped breathing.

Court documents do not describe the relationship between Applegate and Guzikowski.

Police determined there was a warrant for Guzikowski out of Ocean County, N.J., after they went to Applegate's apartment to provide aid and Guzikowski greeted them at the door.

Guzikowski is wanted in New Jersey on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon with an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault, officials said.

Guzikowski, 27, of 36 Virginia Circle, Ridley Park, is being held in Northampton County Prison on $100,000 bail, according to court documents.
