Authorities are trying to track the source of what's described to be a large fuel spill in Berks County.

MUHLENBERG TWP., Pa. -

Authorities are trying to track the source of what's described to be a large fuel spill in Muhlenberg Twp., Berks Co.

Emergency crews were first dispatched shortly after 10 a.m. Friday to the 500 block of Raymond Street for report of either diesel fuel or hydraulic fluid on the ground.

The first crews on the scene reported a large spill of what they believe to be diesel fuel that spread over several streets, including the 500 and 400 blocks of Raymond Street, the 200 block of Madison Street and the intersection of Madison and the 5th Street Highway.

While some fuel has flowed into the storm drains, hazmat crews are working to clean up what remains on the roads.

PennDOT and the emergency management agency have been notified of the spill.
